Bad Storm

We had quite the STORM last night!    I don't think I've ever seen wind this strong.   We were ready to take cover in our safe spot when it subsided.   It came and went that fast.  But, oh the aftermath and the mess it brings.
This tree is on the main road right outside our sub-division.    Which blocks everyone from getting home that way.   It hit a telephone pole and broke it in half.    We lost power, phones, and Internet.
It's funny how lost we are without those conveniences.
I went to get flashlights and still hit the wall switch to turn on lights as I went.   lol     Habits are hard to break!

Two trees were down on our street, just a few houses down from us.

Leaves and twigs were flying everywhere!  Many trees around us were uprooted like this.
We, ourselves, dodged a bullet, as they say, and had no damage!     We are thankful for God protecting
us and that there have been no deaths reported that I know of.

Till next time!

What a shame...the damage is terrible but I'm glad you were safe. We had a little storm last night, lately a lot of rainy days. Be careful what you wish for!

Jane

That was a storm alright...glad your pretty trees are ok! and sorry for the ones that lost theirs. They are not cheap to replant.

We had several storms come through here last night too. They were calling for the 60mph winds that you had but we never quite got that much. Thank goodness! So sad to see those trees pulled over like that. Glad you were safe though!

So glad the trees fell the way they did! What a terrible storm. I hate it when big beautiful trees go down like that. So glad you dodged the bullet too!

Oh my! I hate that kind of weather. We stood in our old house several years ago, and watched giant oak trees fall, one on the front of the house, one on the back, and both missed the house itself by mere inches. Then a large one fell into the swimming pool. It was such a horrible mess. But our home was spared, and we were not hurt! So what more could we ask for. So glad you and your family and home were safe. Take care.

Those are amazing photos! Glad you and your hubby and of course your home are safe! I've been known to try the light switch when the power is out also!

Wow! It's so hard to imagine storms can uproot huge trees. We had one break in half a few months ago due to a storm.:(

Thanks for your nice comments on the summer vignette! I meant to tell you I love your new table and chairs. The set looks so pretty in your house!
