Clocks and More Clocks

I have about 20 clocks in my house, not counting the alarm clocks. No one has an excuse for being late. Here are just a few of them.
I inherited this first clock a couple of years ago from my aunt's estate. She was 87 yrs. old when she passed on. I was anxious to get it but disappointed when I realized that my uncle had taken the cuckoo out because it stopped working. (I think he tried to fix it but couldn't. )

When my Mom said I could have it, I knew I had to get it fixed.

She had traveled to Germany with a close friend more than 50 yrs. ago and brought it back.

When I was a small child I remember going for a visit and being intrigued by the little bird. In January I had the clock refurbished, so to speak. Now my grandchildren are enjoying it, especially the 1 year old who stops when he hears it and yells cuckoo, mimicking the bird.

This one is on an arm and has two faces high up an open shelf in our master bathroom.

This one sets in our bedroom sitting room.

This is in an upstairs hallway. I've had it about 30 years and my little bear collection is on it.

This is in a perfect little corner in the hallway of our great room. It chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour does the Westminster chimes . You can see it from every angle of the room as well as the kitchen.

Wow, I bet it is noisy at your house at night! I had a friend w/ clocks that chimed on the hour and quarter hour. I guess if you live there, you are use to it, lol.

I love clocks so enjoyed seeing your collection. I especially like the one in the corner of your great room. We have a cockoo clock that we bought in Germany. My aunt gave us a cockoo clock for a wedding present. Somewhere along the line we got rid of it. How I wish we had kept it.

I remember seeing these types of clocks in homes when I was a child as well as one where a little man and woman came out and danced or something. That is a treasure and now another generation can enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your clocks.

I am interested in your bears as I am an avid collector. I think I see one or two there that I have.

The chiming clock is in such a perfect spot. I did a Show and Tell about our grandfather clock with Westminster chimes that my husband built from a kit. We love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit - please come back again!

Your cuckoo is VERY similair to the one my mom has. It was a wedding gift for her and my biological father when they married a long time ago! (She's from Germany) Hers was submerged back in 1993 when the floods were so bad in the Midwest. She has told me I will be getting it but it will need some work. It'll be nice to have it going again, such a childhood memory!

Hi Ro,

Thanks for the compliment on Pampered Puppies. I would love to see a picture of your granddaughter sometime. I am envious of her for being able to play in that cute playroom in your house! :)

Clocks remind me of Corrie Ten Boom. I think her family had a watch shop.

I can iamgine it is easy to fall asleep at your house with the ticking and tocking going on!

The last clock with Westminster
chimes is my favorite, it has
so much character, and it looks
terrific in the space where you put it.
