Guest Bedroom

Hi Everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start. It's sunny and warm in SC today. Many different things are blooming right now.

Today I'm joining Marty for Tabletop Tuesday @A Stroll Thru Life and Kim @Savvy Southern Style for Wow us Wednesday.

This is one of our guest bedrooms. I love using rich colors when decorating. They're warm and vibrant.

I purchased this iron headboard a couple of years ago. I love the detailing on it.


I bought this scalloped harp table at an antique store in Rock Hill, NC a year ago. It was in such good condition and the price was right. (please ignore the cords....a necessary evil)

The vase of flowers match the flowers in the bedding and the paintings on the wall.

My sweet friend Ceekay sent me this beautiful little note card and I framed it.

This little settee has been around many years but serves a purpose. I like to have a place where guests can sit to put their shoes on , etc.

Here in the deep south, where temps. can get to over 100, it's comforting to have a ceiling fan in the room. I went with this one that had a victorian look.

The small prints on the wall were done by artist, Ann Taylor, who worked for Disney for many years. They picture a mother with her two daughters. Having two daughters of my own, I was drawn to them.

The room has a small "cubby hole" that has always had a small crib for the grandchildren. Our two year old granddaughter recently went into a regular bed and since she is the last grandchild, I put that away and moved an antique desk in it's place.

A second mirror is on the wall behind the door. Makes it convenient when there is more than one guest in the room, which is often the case.

On the other side of the bed is another antique table.

The Bombay is a newer piece that came from Hickory, NC. I'm so glad we can go there in a day to look at furniture when we are in the market for a piece.

The smaller table is an antique that houses a very old radio. It was built that way. It has the old buttons that car radios use to have.

It's a Motorola and has the old tubes in the back. Anyone remember these?
