Memorial Day Inside Decor

We've decorated the outside of the house and leave it up till after the 4th of July. Inside we just decorate the family room. It's where everyone gathers and it is visible from the kitchen area also.

I change the things on the mantel and tables. Do any of you have patriotic things displayed? I would love to see what you do.

I painted Miss Liberty and Uncle Sam many years ago.

I've had this book in my office for ever and added it to the display on the mantel. (It needs to be updated)
This is a photo that was taken 13 years ago right before Andrea married Kris. Everyone but me had on one of my hubby's sweaters. I added it to the mantel, also.

My best friend, Ceekay bought this cookbook for me many years ago. It has the recipes of the White House from 1887. There are some strange ones.

A few things on the sofa table behind the couch.

A few things on top the entertainment center.

I hope you're having a fun, safe Memorial Day! The price of freedom is high. May we all honor those who have given it to us.

We went to Historic Brattonsville, SC yesterday where part of the Patriot with Mel Gibson was filmed. I can't tell you how interesting that was. I'll post about it soon.

Looks pretty Ro...I decorated my coffee table in Living Room....I don't have much, but it is nice.
You should have that book about the flag I gave you a couple years ago. You must have forgot it, or I didn't see it...it is perfect colors!!
Hoping to go to HL this week and maybe pick up a couple of things...maybe, if I see something I like. I seem to gravitate to Uncle Sams!!
Happy Memorial Day!

I love your room and all of your pretty little patriotic things. I enlarged your family portrait and you have a beautiful family! I really don't have any patriotic things for inside. But you know how it is in Blogland - people will start showing us their things and I'll have to go out and get some too!
LOL
Be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see me,
Shelia :)

Your family room looks so beautiful!! I wish I could say that I decorate the inside of the house, but I don't! Well I do have these two little ceramic bears but they're nothing compared to what you do! Love everything! Can't wait to hear about your trip! Enjoy!

You just inspired me to pull out some patriotic books and have the children make some decorations for our home. Thanks.

Looks really good! Great idea to use the books too.

We just returned late tonight, I'm exhausted, trying to relax a little reading blogs.

I have been trying to leave you comments for the last several posts. I get it all typed and then when I go to click on the "Publish Your Comment" button it is nowhere to be found. Strange. I am hoping for better luck today. I enjoyed seeing all of your patriotic decor - inside and out. It all looks great.

Everything looks so pretty! You can leave some out..cause July 4th is just around the corner! That's what my Mom does...but I don't do much except some flags outside.

Hope you are having a blessed week!

What an inspiration you are! I seem to only bring my red, white & blue out for the Fourth, but I should've thought of this. I have a TON of decorations! When the kids were growing up we were always out at Lake Havasu on the Colorado River for the 4th and we did it up BIG!
Thank you for reminding me I should show how grateful we are on more than just one day, and show my proud colors both times of the year!
Your home looks fabulous!
Have a great day!

My dad would love your decorations. He is the ultimate patriot. I haven't been decorating much the last few years with all the little fingers around so much of the time.

Hi Ro, Everything is so wonderful. I love all your touches around and the way you tie it all in throughout. Your painted treasures are awesome. I have painted many Americana items throughout the years when I did more folk art styles. You can't find those pieces today so that makes them very special.
Thank you to your dear hubby too for his service.
Have a nice weekend and see you again soon.
hugs, Celestina Marie
