Thankfulness

When some people are asked to name the seven wonders of the world they ramble off these:

1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. India’s Taj Mahal
3. The Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

There is another set of "seven wonders" that we need to focus on daily and be thankful for:

1. to touch
2. to taste
3. to see
4. to hear
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love

It is so easy for us to look at achievements of man or at spectacular things and refer to them as “wonders” while we overlook some of the seemingly little things God has given us, regarding them as merely “ordinary.”
These recent weeks following my DH heart surgery, we are thankful each day that he is here to enjoy all the blessings God has bestowed on us.
When someone can't seem to find something in there life to be thankful for I ask them if they have checked their pulse today. It's good to be vertical and ventilating.
May we all be reminded today of God’s ordinary blessings that are truly wonders.
As we are “thankful,” let’s be sure to remember to thank the One from whom all blessings flow and not just be thankful that we’re blessed, forgetting the Giver.
I wish you all a Blessed Thanksgiving!

Wonderful thoughts here. I agree wholeheartedly. I've been to the first three wonders of the world 0n your list and they don't compare to your second list of wonders.

I totally agree with you. When I'm out walking, I start at the top of my body and go to the bottom, thanking God for everything that I have!

I really agree with you. My hubby has vision problems which have made us very aware of our God given abilites.

Thank you for reminding us for every day blessing. To have my husband and children mean all the world to me. Everything else pales in comparison! Thank you for dropping by my blog today. I hope you will visit again!

Wow...a powerful reminder! So many things we all take for granted. Thank you for reminding us to appreciate what we have instead of focusing on the negative.

I'd never really thought of being thankful for our senses and feelings but certainly it is basic and right. I love it when someone gives me new ideas. Thank you!
