Looking for Spring

My Rose from Valentine's Day was coming to it's end and I started thinking about Spring and Spring flowers.

Roses are such a beautiful and unique creation, aren't they!

In certain light they look like velvet.

So, I got myself busy and made a floral arrangement for the basket on my front door. I even added a butterfly to the handle. ( Michael's was selling the little clip on kind.)

My pansies were perking up after the cold winter we've had and my ornamental cabbages had a recent growth spurt. lol People either love these things or hate them. lol

I cleaned out the flower beds and hung this little bird house on a small hook.

My Japanese Tulip Tree's blooms are beginning to open.
Now all I need is for this dormant grass to turn green.
When we moved to SC, it was hard to get used to the grass turning to hay in the winter time. lol
(I still don't like it.)

That's what's happening in our neck of the woods. How was your weekend?
Thanks for stopping!

The weather has been spectacular and warm here, but storms are heading this way. I don't like the brown grass in the winter either. Ours is just starting to green back up since it has been so warm. Of course if we get another frost it will be brown again.

Hi Rose, your rose does look like velvet, I love to look deep into roses, they look so perfect! Enjoyed seeing your spring flowers, and I am so looking forward to ours blooming soon.
Great job, on your door basket, I have got to work on my wreath this week.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Sue

Spring is definitely springing in the south, isn't it? I enjoyed working outside yesterday and was thinking I need to put something on the front door. Your basket looks so pretty and welcoming.

I enjoyed seeing what you've done; we're not quite there yet in Oklahoma! I just called my husband in to show him the photo of your beautiful back yard. We're just beginning with ours and I wanted him to see it. Thanks! Annie

OMG your home is so beautiful!
I just love that basket hanging outside~
And that rose does have a velvet look. And I am so jealous of the pansies!
I still see mounds of snow!

Things are sure looking very pretty at your house. I haven't even started outside but I did notice the pansies perking up a bit in my deck boxes too. Love the floral arrangement in the basket on the front door! It's huge and beautiful!

Quite lovely is the walk to your door. Welcoming and enchanting. When I moved from Europe, I was totally bummed to see brown grass! I love your basket on the door. Your birdcage is delightful!
