Staying Fit

We're three months into the new year already! How time flies. How are you all doing with your New Year resolutions?

I didn't actually make any. I knew I wanted to be more faithful to the exercising that I have done for years but sometimes it gets pushed to the back with all the company or traveling we do.

Here's our little room that I visit several times a week.

WE have a few pieces of equipment that does multiple tasks.

I have to say, I do love the Total gym. It can adapt to do so many exercises.

It's folded in this pic but can be easily undone.

The large ball is so good for stretching, sit-ups or balancing. The small one is deceiving. It weighs 4 to 5 times what the big one does. It's weighted to use in strength or balance exercises.

The pilates chair has tension springs that really works the legs and there is an exercise to do for the arms, too.

The weight bench has helped me when it comes to strenghening my arms. I can tell a big difference in handling the grandkids, carrying groceries, or arm wrestling hubby---just kidding! lol

The stair stepper is good for toning the legs.

I do this all while watching the news in the mornings.

This room is used for sewing, painting, crafts, etc.--hence the table.

On the other side is a comfy chair for hubby when he wants to watch a sports event that I'm not interested in. He retreats to this room for TV, playing his guitar, etc.

We just did a Sunday service at an assisted living facility and he sang " Noah Found Grace in The Eyes of the Lord" for them-- after he spoke on Noah.

Life is busy, isn't it? We need to take time to care for ourselves so we can go out and care for others. As "Martha" would say---It's a Good Thing!!

Love seeing all of your exercise equipment although a little intimidating! I have an exercise bike but I'm afraid it's collecting dust! You're certainly an inspiration.
How nice to have a service for the little olden ones and your hubs to sing and speak. All through my jr high days through hi school, I played the piano every Sunday afternoon at a nursing home for a little church service. When I'd start to play the old hymns - out would come so many of the little olden ones. I remember it to this day.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Rose,
What a great exercising room, I have been faithful to walking and bike riding, and plan to do strength training soon.
I know you all had a wonderful service, and you must be so proud of your dh. Hope your week is super great.
Hugs,
Sue

What a wonderfully inspiring post, Rose. I have the best intention of turning our bonus room into a room like yours. We do have a treadmill and tv in there. Every time I seem to get it somewhat organized, one of the boys moves and puts their surplus stuff in there. I do use the treadmill on occasion, but feel I would be better about it if there weren't so much clutter. Anyhow, that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it. :) Fortunately I am a bit better when it comes to walking.
I admire you for your discipline.
I also admire you both for going to the assisted living facility. When my mom was living in one I felt so happy when people would give their time to come and help brighten the lives of the residents.

WOW - you really have a lot of things! I have been really intersted in the Malibu Pilates...would you recommend it? Do you use it often? Just curious - would love an honest opinion! Thanks - you are inspiring:)

I don't right make resolutions, but right after New Year's this year, I began the PRISM program. We can only weigh every 6 weeks, so I am anxious for the next time in two more weeks. I get to the gym 5 times a week, most of the time. I would love to have a room like yours, but do enjoy the gym.

I wish I could find some way to get rid of the disgusting flab on my arms!

How wonderful that you led a service at an Assisted Living Home...just awesome...I have often thought about that but need to actually move forward and just do it! Perhaps that should be my resolution.

I am having a "Blue Monday" giveaway at my blog if you would like to stop by. Hope you have a terrific week. Nice to visit here!

Stay Cozy, Carrie

Nice exercise room! Looks like you've added some things since I was there!

I need to exercise, we aren't even walking now. Since it has warmed up we don't have an excuse, should get crackin!
