A Guest Bedroom

It's been a busy week at our house. A family of 5 stayed with us, as they brought 2 sons down to college. I just finished washing and remaking the 4 bedrooms, ours included, and thought it would be a good time to post one of the rooms.

This is the room that most guests stay in when they visit. I try to have a spot that they can sit on and a luggage rack for their suitcase.

It's nice to have a lamp by the bed and some empty drawers for clothes, if possible.
This is another angle that shows the round table better.

This is across the room to give you a better view of the chest.

A closer look at what is on the chest (flowers in a vase, tea pot , tea cup and a very small wedding pic of our daughter .A ceiling fan is a nice touch, if you have the hook up for one. This one came with a remote, you can see it on the wall above the light switch, that they can use from the bed if they wish. Like Shannon, at Bless our Nest, two of our beds are on risers. The skirts hang nicely with them but you may need a little stool, like the one below, to assist you in getting in for the night. In that room there is an alcove and I put a little antique desk and chair for them to write letters, notes, or pay bills. ( they usually don't stay that long, smile).

A small waste can is helpful, also.

I hope you enjoyed the Show & Tell.
Thanks for your visits this past week. Have a great weekend!

HI--I am from SC too. I enjoyed looking at the room--it was like a bed and breakfast bedroom (my friend owns and operates one here in our little town). Such nice touches---my rooms look so thrown together and hodge podge---it is nice to see one so prettily decorated!

What a lovely place for your guests. I'll bet they are tempted to stay there long enough that they need to use the desk to pay their bills.

SO pretty!!

I got my cheese dome at Goodwill. They had like 10. The bases were REALLY ugly so I just picked one based on the top. Some of them can be different. Hope you find one! I used hotglue on mine last night and it worked great! It doesn't even look messy.

Thanks for your recent visit and sweet comments.

To answer your question - I got the jar candle stopper from QVC. It is from the Old Virginia Candles line. I have many of their candles and those stoppers are the greatest thing for making your candles burn evenly with no soot build up on the glass. If you visit QVC.com and search for Old Virginia Candles you can see all of the products they offer.

Enjoy your day,
Kim
