Merry Christmas

Hello friends! It's seems forever since I've done a post! Life has a way of changing my plans. lol
We've been gone to CA visiting our daughter and family. We had a great time and fairly good weather. We loved spending time with them and doing fun things together..like going on a whale & dolphine watch.
We we returned home the nasty flu bug attacked us and it wasn't pretty! It took me a couple of weeks to start to feel normal again.
We finally got the decorating done and have been flying around like crazy to get the shopping, etc. done.

Here's a few pics I hope you enjoy of our family room. (smile)

Lots of lights, bulbs & glitter! People enter at their own risk. lol There will be glitter till Feb. '12

We have two staircases that we hang garland on.

A vingette on the countertop.

The catwalk upstairs with a small tree at the end of it.

Looking up from downstairs to the catwalk.

The front staircase.

Looks who's at the top of the landing. He's checking to see if we've naughty or nice.

Some snowmen on the kitchen counter. See...I trapped a snowman head and tucked it in with some snowballs to keep him from melting.

Here's one that got away and hopped on a candlestick. He doesn't know how close he is to

the stove though....doesn't make for a happy ending. (smile)

Thanks for stopping by! Are you all ready for Christmas or do you have more shopping, baking, etc. to do.

Rose, Your home looks magnificent, all dressed so festively for the holidays! Your tree looks so much taller than mine- how tall is it? Since mine is so fat, it doesn't look really 12 ft. tall. Really wanted a skinny one, but couldn't find one. Your bannisters look lovely all lit up and covered with greenery. Hope you enjoy all of this prettiness with friends and family. ;-) Merry, merry! Sue

I have missed you out here in blogland. Glad you were having fun in CA, but sorry to hear about the flu bug. No fun!
Your house is looking beautifully decorated and I think the trapped snowman is the cutest thing.
I love your lighted garlands on the banisters. Do you plug them in or are they battery operated? I have wanted to do that across my bridge upstairs, but couldn't imagine where to plug them all in.
The decorating is done here, but the baking is just getting started.

Hi Rose, I am so sorry to read you all had the flu. Not fun I am sure of that. So glad you enjoyed a wonderful time in California. Your home looks amazing, iviting and always gorgeous. Love the garlands on the railings. It just makes everything so festive. Your kitchen snowmen under the cloche is so cute and your smaller tree at the end of the catwalk is perfect.
I hope you are caught up now and can relax and enjoy the season. We are done with everything here and just waiting for the weekend. Had a few parties and it has been a happy time all around.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and many blessings in the new year.

I'm so glad that you're feeling better. You and I both have a fondness for twinkly lights! I use them every place that I can, too! The snowman head in the jar is pretty amusing. Did you warn the snowman who insisted on hopping so close to the stovetop? Could get pretty damp. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Come by any time, and Merry Christmas! Cherry Kay
