CA Trip

We left these guys in SC to go see...
these guys in CA on Christmas Day. We have never traveled on Christmas in our 40 yrs. of marriage. First time for everything, I guess. lol We could not believe how busy the airports were, staffed with all the personnel on Christmas Day. Kinda sad, actually!
It was the only time we could use our flyer miles and get to CA anywhere near Christmas. We jumped at the chance to be with our daughter and grandchildren out there.

After celebrating that weekend. We left Monday for a Safari! That's right--all the way to San Diego. lol The kids were so excited to spend two days in San Diego. Tuesday we went to Sea World. (That's for another post).
California had been having major rains and flooding right before we visited.
We were so fortunate that the rains and flooding had stopped and the parks were re-opened.

There were so many animals to see and sooo little time to get it all in...but we did our best! lol
This trainer brought out a Cheetah for the audience to see. They can run 60 to 70 miles per hour for a very short period. They are the fastest animals alive. I would not want one chasing me.

Emma got a little too close for comfort for this pic. Only a small split rail fence divided them.

This is the largest hawk in the world and comes from Africa. It flew right over the audience and landed on her arm.

We boarded a tram to head out into the bush, so to speak. lol

They actually let these Lions have use of this vehicle. lol

Animals were roaming everywhere.

The scenery was very pretty for a desert.

King of the jungle here.
This is a rare breed named Olivia. How did she sneak in there. lol

This is a Zebra, like no other I've seen before. It's a certain kind from Africa. Looks like it's crossed with some other animal but it's not. Someone forgot to paint the rest of him. lol
Did you know when they are born they are a solid color and the stripes come later? Who knew?

Look at the long neck and legs on these deer.

Two Homosapiens---Emma and Olivia. One of a kind! They're so cute!

Here they are again with their wings spread wide.

We had so much fun with them. Don't they look happy!

Thanks for letting me share so many pictures with you! I hope you weren't bored too much!
I'll be around to see what's happening in your neck of the woods!
