A Christmas Card

Hi Ladies,

Are we all done packing up Christmas decorations? It's a job, that's for sure.

While organizing things, I ran across an interesting card that I have kept for a few years and thought I'd share it with you today. In fact, you gals can give me some ideas as to how to keep or display it. You all are so creative.

It's the White House Christmas card that we were privileged enough to receive.

This is the envelope. The card has a picture of the White House, the Jackson Magnolia with Barney, Miss Beazley and India Bush. (their dogs and cat) Done by American artist Jamie Wyeth.

There is a Bible verse (Psalm 28:7) with the Bush's best wishes for the holiday season.

As President Bush's term in office is drawing to an end soon, I want to thank President and Mrs. Bush for their sacrificial service and courageous leadership. I am grateful for their hard work and commitment to America and wish them the best in the years ahead.

Let's not forget to pray for our new President and his family as they begin to serve our great country.

Thanks for visiting today and I wish you the best in 2009!

How wonderful to receive such a card in the mail. I can't say I've any ideas how to display as I'm short on creativity these days.
Have a great day!

Very nice card! I can see why you want to keep it.

I would consider cutting the card in half and having it matted & framed so that you can see the front of the card one the left of the picture & the inside of the card on the right side.

I agree with Sharon in cutting the card in 1/2 as much as you'd hate to. But it would display nicely in a frame that way.

Amen. They have both worked very hard and given very little credit. Beautiful post and lovely card. And yes, we need to remember and keep the new administration in our prayers as well.

That is such a lovely card. I really have high regard for both Laura and President bush, and feel like Laura and I could be friends if we had the opportunity. I feel so bad about the way they've been treated in the press!

This is a lovely post. Thanks for the tribute to the President and Laura Bush. I agree that they deserve honor and our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

Also my prayers go to the new president and his family. For the sake of the nation he's got to get it right and soon.

I saw your card on tv when Mrs. Bush was showing c-span what would be on the Christmas card this year. Cool!

Have a good weekend.

I would take it to my Frame Shop and get the clever girl to help me and then I would hang it during the holidays and store it after.
