Today I'm joining Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday.
I set an informal table for cookies and hot cocoa at the kitchen table. Please pop over to Marty's for alot of inspirational talbe tops.

I decorated the entire kitchen with the very bright greens and reds for Christmas.

I filled the apothecary jar with ornaments of red and green and later added the striped bulbs.

I had two polka dot cups and two Ho Ho cups.

The Santa mats came from K-Mart many years ago.
The mitten plates from Cracker Barrel last year.
The mugs from Old Time Pottery.
Thanks for stopping and thanks to Marty for hosting!
Till next time.

It's Been Busy

Thanks to all who commented on my Mom Cave! It really is a place I use every night. In fact, I'm sitting in here right now talking (typing) to you. lol

It's been a busy month, as I'm sure it's been for you. Many things were on the calendar. We had a banquet to go to that benefits a free medical clinic in our area. All the medical personnel offer their services free of charge and there are many, many volunteers that work there. It was held at a local university. Here are a few pictures.

The guest speaker was Governor Mike Huckabee. We had the opportunity to meet him at the private reception before dinner.

He gave an excellent speech on service to others! Great reminder for all of us to help the less fortunate.

He's quite humorous, too.

Last Thursday night we had the opportunity to former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich.

He gave a motivating speech for us to exercise our right to vote at the polls on Nov. 2.

Radio personality and Fox News contributor, Mike Gallagher was also there. He actually started is career here.

I just finished teaching my decorating class for the ladies at church. It's always a privilege to help them in some small way with what limited knowledge I have.
The class is for young married ladies that covers 12 wks. with a different topic each week. The classes cover cooking, cleaning, time management, finances, personal care, decorating, entertaining, etc. The girls have a hunger to learn and are joy to work with.
We call it W.I.S.E. Builders. It stands for Women of Integrity, strength, & efficiency.

I gave them all a pumpkin to take home with a cute little saying attached.

You can click to enlarge the saying.

A few of you asked how my chandelier hanging in the foyer was on a timer.

We purchased this gadget at Lowe's and installed it in the light switch, then set the time we wanted it on and time to go off.

Thanks for stopping! I appreciate all of you!
Till next time...............
