Time To Put Snowmen Away

I'm getting Spring Fever, how about you? I've gotten a few projects done and have a few more waiting, but that's always an ongoing thing. Oh well, back to the post.
I decided to pack away my snow friends. They have been out since I did Christmas decorations in November. ( I make it worth my while) lol
Here's just a few that were scattered around the house waiting to get packed away.
Got our the blue tubs. Blue for cold, I color co-ordinate the tubs so I know what's in them. You know, red & green for Christmas, black and orange for fall, etc. My big guy, the gourd, takes up half one by himself. I just love him.

My little peace guy from Ceekay. I still put some back in the same boxes that they came in for safe keeping.

All stacked up ready to go on a shelf in the garage.

Someone just hopped in from the garage as I opened the door. I heard them saying, "My turn, My turn!"

Aren't they too cute? A present from my sister when she visited a few years ago. They are made from paper mac he. They are so detailed and look so happy that they got out of that box.
He's painting his eggs getting ready for Easter. Paint brush in hand and two spare ones in his bib pocket. A little baby bunny in his cart.

She's doing some decorating on her own with her Spring tulips and basket of eggs.

This is their new resting place for the next couple of months. I think their smiles say they're "hoppy".

Stay tuned to see if they multiply and scatter around the house.

Tupperware Party

It's been years since I gave or have been to a Tupperware party. I ran into a friend that is a rep. and she asked if I would help her out and I said yes.
A couple of wks. ago I had a few ladies over and we had a little party.

The rep wants you to keep it simple so it can easily be duplicated if you get a booking from your party. I had brownies, pound cake cut up to garnish with strawberries, a cheese ball with crackers, and chocolate candies.

I still had my snowmen out and used one for the center piece.

I should have had the lids off the glass wear for better viewing. Sorry.

I put the refreshments on the kitchen island so the rep could use the other counter for her display. (Hence, the empty counter below)

The brownies (always with nuts for our family)

The cheese ball had a vegetable flavor to it. (Very tasty)

The pound cake.

The drink area set up with the Keurig so they could get tea, hot chocolate, or flavored coffees.

Having the party was worth all the freebies that I got. Here's just a few.

These are the heat and serve containers.

I used some of my new modular mates to organize the pantry. They take up so much less room.

Look at those labels girls, they are all readable. I told hubby he was sleeping with the enemy. Yikes!

I've been busy on another sewing project that I'll post in a few days.

Have a great, safe, happy weekend!

More Projects

I don't know about you, but I have been in the cleaning, reorganizing, and updating mode. Trying to get drawers, closets, and sewing projects done. Last week I showed a couple of table runners I made for the dining room. This week I'm showing one I did for my office. I put it on top of the antique library table in there.

I've had the material for three years (found it in a closet, smile). It was the left over from my curtains.

Out came the machine and the sewing began.
I used the fabric on the right.

I could have left it plain but at the last minute decided to add the bow to match the chair covers.

The chair covers are reversible so I featured each one on the chair backs.

I can easily remove it if I have to work on the table. It's purely for show.

I usually am at my desk talking to all my blogging friends, like you. smile

Thanks for taking a look today and don't forget to visit Kelli at There is no place like home for more Show & Tell.
Have a safe and happy weekend!

Out to Dinner

We have some wonderful, dear and, I might add, very generous friends that wanted to take us to the opening night of the new Ruth Chris restaurant in our town. We had a great time and an unbelievably good meal. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive.

Here we are at the front entrance.

In the lobby waiting to be seated at our table.

Fresh flowers were abundant everywhere.
The dining room is simple yet elegant.
We had a great time with our friends, staff and the owner of the franchise. She was in from Atlanta for the opening We were their first paying customers so the four of us signed a dollar bill for the owner to frame.

The Staff
The food was delicious and they were so willing to split things for us.

Of course we couldn't end the meal without something chocolate. It was divine!

It was delactable!! I'm like Oprah, I have to have a little chocolate everyday. smile

We are so thankful for wonderful friends!
What have you been up to this week?

Winter Storm

Here in SC we rarely have snow. When we do it is usually only a dusting on the ground. We may get an ice storm but our temperatures quickly rise above freezing and melts it. Of course, the damage is permanent.

We've been fortunate so far this year and have not seen ice or snow. A couple of years ago, however, we did. While I was busy in the house, hubby disappeared for a while and then asked me to look out the window. I couldn't believe my eyes. His creativity never ceases to amaze me. He had wrote (or I should say stepped) me a message in the snow large enough for airplanes going over to see.

I asked him how he got by without footsteps showing that connected the words. He just smiled and said he hopped over to the next word. You can see how he started his path from the patio in the pic above and below. He's a very funny guy.

Jonas had never seen snow or been in a snowsuit before. Normal temps can be around 50 here in the winterhere. He could hardly move and didn't want to walk in his new get-up.

When he did, he couldn't stay upright.
Notice the pansies in the background. It's amazing how they bounce right back after ice has covered them.

I think Jonas started to enjoy a little of the hooplah,-- eventually!

I hope those without power has had it restored. I have been praying for you.
Have a happy weekend! Do something fun.

I thought I would do a tablescape in the Dining Room today. Last week I made a couple of new runners. One for the table and one for the buffet so I decided to bring in all their colors into the tablescape.
I used red chargers, black plates, and green salad plates.

I put them on black place mats.

I used a fruit centerpiece with candles.

Gold napkins rolled in the goblets.

A votive candle in a square glass bowl.

Thanks for stopping in today and please go take a look at other beautiful tables at Between Naps On The Porch
Have a happy week!

Little Dresses

Isn't she cute! Did you think she was the new grandbaby? No, she's not, but she is a close relative. It's her mother, our daughter, thirty-one years ago. Sarah wore this dress for her 3 month picture taken at Sears in 1977. The dress may have been our oldest daughter's too. I can't really remember. This I do know, it was passed to the eldest daughter and she had two girls that wore it and was recently passed down to Sarah for Ivy to wear. Are you confused yet? ( smile) In other words it's been through 4 or 5 baby girls over the years.

There are several little dresses of the girls that I kept and are still being used and maybe will be for future generations--who knows?

The next pic is Sarah, also.

My hand is under a blanket holding Sarah up in this pic so she didn't fall. The photographer had to be quick with this shot. smile

Sarah brought the kids over the other day while she did some errands and Ivy was wearing this dress. I got a few pics of her and scanned Sarah's baby pic to compare at that age. Well---the consensus was she looks more like her dad than Sarah at this age.

We had to get Jonas in the pic. He was suffering with a cold and Ivy looks like she's saying "Do I have to get this close to him "?

Have a happy, healthy week and thanks for taking a peek.
