If you will remember I had to get much of it down myself, due to hubby's surgery. I wanted to make things a little more accessible for both of us so I suggested we insulate some eaves and store them in there rather than up in the attic. It would be much easier to access but the eaves were too hot in summer and too cold in the winter. I decided to try my hand at putting in some insulation and organizing all the outside decor and the garland that was on the banisters inside of the house. Yes, hubby lent a helping hand.
I was off, first to Lowe's then to Walmart for some tubs.
Here's the insulation that comes in a roll. Here's the eaves before.
Here's part of it afterwards.
I'm using a stapling gun to put it up.
Only one minor wound. No, it wasn't the stapling gun, it was from an xacto knife while cutting the insulation to fit.
A few hours later and it was all done. Hubby hurried to get all the outside decorations down and I helped him with some of the inside and stored it in our new tubs.

This is so much easier, neater and cleaner. Tomorrow we start the decorations inside that we store in the garage.
The large tub is on wheels and is easy to put in and pull out. I'm all for making life easier, aren't you?

Many of you are probably all done and back to normal. I hope to join you by the end of the week. Whew, this is a lot of work, but it was so pretty while it was up.
I hope you're having a good week. See you in a few.

My decorations are still hanging around...maybe tomorrow! I do have red and green containers to put them in, but not a the house(storage). It looks like you did a great job!
Today the eaves...tomorrow...hmmmm, anything you want to do to the roof???
Good job girlfriend.
Okay, you are serious about this! Good job! I'm like you, it HAS to be organized:-)
Oh, I've taken candles out of the windows, and started to put away a few items, but the bulk is still left to be done. I take my time so as to get things organized, labelled, and notes taken for use again next year.

I am very impressed!! Very nice work and very neat! Love me a neat storage area! Have a great day.
Happy New Year sweet friend. You have been working hard I see. Sorry you have a battle scar too. I usually do that somehow. Great storage solution. I too, use the totes in a walk up attic, and you are right, it makes taking down and putting up so much easier.
Hope 2009 is your best ever. Also hope your DH is doing well since the surgery.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
I'm impressed with your insulating ability. We finally got large plastic containers to store all of our decorations in. It is soooo much better. We used to have it all in cardboard boxes. It's always good to get everything put away again.

WOW!! You have been one busy lady. I love your idea. And I have to give you a lot of credit for jumping in there and just doing it. You did a great job. I do store all of my holiday decor in these wonderful tubs. I just red & green for Christmas. And orange for fall, which includes Thanksgiving & Holloween. I am glad to hear your hubby is doing well. Hugs, Terrie
It looks like you did a great job with that insulation! It looks like a great place to store your decorations. Mine are all in tubs in my garage on built in shelves.
