A Hint of Home

Twas the night before decorating
And all through the house
Boxes were piled and scattered
And scared even a mouse! (And anyone else nearby)!


Enough of my poetry, already. I like to keep the tubs in the garage and bring them in one by one as needed. It helps keep my sanity. I use green for traditional Christmas items and the blue for my snowmen. All my decorating is done now. Shew! It's a job, isn't it? You want everything just right, especially if you are posting pics. ( We put so much pressure on ourselves, don't we?) smile

I thought I would start by showing the Santas that I have painted over many years. Some are in acrylics and some in oils.

The next two, I used a special mallet to create the wood grain look.

This one is opens up to tell a greeting.

The next few are small but cute.

I love how jolly this one looks peeping through the joy.

The next three are my favorite and most detailed. I even loved doing all the little toys. Click on pictures to enlarge for details.

I used Dap caulking to create the fur and beards with and xacto knife. The oils on this takes weeks to dry.

The green on is a European Santa.

The red is a traditional Santa.

This is a Scandanavian one.
