We are praising the Lord for his goodness and watch care over Tom. He went through the surgery well. He had some bleeding in the chest that caused concerns and they gave him platelets to help the clotting process. He was in CVICU on Tuesday and part of Wednesday. He then was moved to CICU. (The V for vascular and the latter for Cardiac Care.)
He had some unusual pain late Tuesday (aside from the normal post surgery pain, which in itself is horrific for some). They called the surgeon back to the hospital and ordered some tests to check the chest area for any blood build up or other abnormalities. Everything was fine and they ordered some stronger meds. Late yesterday evening they discovered a "pericardia rub", which is an inflammation of the lining around the heart. They told us that should clear up in a couple of days. He walked a little late evening yesterday and is making good progress.
I thank each of you that has prayed, posted and asked others to pray. It is so comforting!

Sandy and I have been praying for Tom and for you and your children many times each day. As he was being rolled into surgery CeeKay, Sandy, and I were praying together in the cottage. God is so good and we are thrilled that Tom is doing well. We know he will have recovery time ahead of him and that you are expecting a new grandchild any day. We will be praying for all of you as both stressful and joyous events unfold.
