Hello to everyone out in blogland! I missed being able to keep up with all the news out there and interacting with all of you.
We had a wonderful trip to MI and CA visiting family and attending my nephew's wedding.
Our daughter and family have settled in a lovely city of CA and have a few core families to help them with their church planting. They rent a church bldg. on Sundays and Wednesday night. They have much work ahead of them and are happy being in the Lord's will.
We arrived home in the early hours of Wed. and hubby went back to work and the routine began again. I had unpacking, laundry to do, plus a huge stack of mail to go through. The next day I did some outside work on the lawn and weeding the flower beds. Hubby and I retired around 11:00 that night and little did we know that our world was about to change.
He woke me around 1:00 and was in obvious pain and distress. I called the EMS and he was taken to the hospital. A heart cath. was done and the news, frankly blew us away. He had 5 major arteries blocked. All above 90 %. One at 100% that they declare as dead. He did not suffer a heart attack though.
Now we are talking about a man who's heart rate is that of a runner, blood pressure is great, has kept his weight near perfect, and all the testing that they did came back negative. He has taken nutrition for 30 years, to boot and his cholesterol is fine. This is a man who just walked around Disney Land and a neighboring park for 14 hours.
They could not put a stent in any of the arteries and surgery is his only option. They say this can be largely to do with genetics. It does run in his family.
We know our God is sovereign and makes no mistakes and as he faces open heart surgery tomorrow (Tues. 21st) we would appreciate your prayers on his behalf.
I'm not sure when I will post again but I will try to inform you of his progress some time by week's end.
Thanks for your prayers.

I will keep both of you in my prayers. Please let us know how he is doing when you can.
Oh my goodness - I am so sorry to hear this. It is so shocking when someone seems to be perfectly healthy one minute and then becomes ill so suddenly. Please know that you will both be in my prayers.
Hugs,
Kim
I will keep you and your family in my prayers.....hang in there..

Wow. We just never know what will happen at any given moment, do we? I'm so thankful you were at home! I'll be remembering you and him as you go into surgery tomorrow.
Oh, my! I'm just reading this Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., I have started praying and will pray for both of you throughout the day! PTL, that it didn't happen while you were gone!
Something similar just happened to Susan's husband, (Penless Writer blogspot.)
Please update us as soon as you can!

My friend Katherine at Yellow Rose Arbor emailed me the request to pray for your husband - and for you. I am in prayer for him, for the doctors and staff who care for him and for you and your family. I'll check in again to see updates as you share them. In the meantime, rest in the Lord. He will give you strength as you walk through these next days.

Came over from an e-mail from Katherine asking me to pray about this. I am praying for your husband.
My husband just had double bi-pass heart surgery on October 9th and I had him in 2 hospital emergency rooms while on vacation, Flagstaff, AZ & Grants, NM before we got him back to Oklahoma City for surgery.
My thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

I am keeping you and your hubby in my heart and prayers during this difficult time.
I will keep your hubby in my prayers. My Dad had a 5 bypass
about 20 years ago and continues to do well. Hang in there and God bless you!
Rose, love you....ceekay!
My goodness, I missed this post about your dear hubby and trying to do some catch up now with posts past.
I am so glad that he is doing well now and God has blessed him with renewed health. I know it must have been very scary for you.
Continued prayers for his improvement and God's blessings on you both.
Sorry I have not been to visit as much. I have been busy and also spent last Friday night in the ER due to a right eye problem. Seeing a specialist for Retinal Detashment watch. Today is my first morning without flashing lights in my eye. I have to limit my computer use. I am thankful it is not worse.
Again, prayers and thoughts for you and your hubby. So happy the surgery went well.
Best Regards always, Celestina
