Kelli suggested for Show & Tell today that we post something we've made. There were many items to choose from, being a homemaker for almost 38 yrs. I finally chose the guest room we refer to as the "yellow and blue" room around here.
I made the curtains a few years ago with waverly toile material. In SC they use to have many textile mills, now not so many. One is Laurel Textile Mill that my daughter introduced me to that sells at very discount prices. I think I paid under $6 a yd. for this fabric.
I did the curtains, pillows, and table covering with the toile and changed to a plaid for the pillow shams and little table scarf.
The quilt was a gift from my two daughters for Mother's Day one year. It's the room with the lamp from Germany and the school house clock that I previously posted.
I have two daughters and fell in love with the Victorian lady print, with two little girls in her arms.
This is another view showing one of the mirrors already posted with an old wash stand.
I try to have a comfortable chair, table, lighting, misc. toiletries, and afghan to make their stay pleasant.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Ro,
Everything was just lovely!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures. :)
Like I was just there! So pretty. You know I love that victorian look...by the way, the table looks great in front of the window. You wouldn't want it in the garage or anything like that!!!
That is a beautiful guest room! I have blue Waverly toile and check fabrics waiting to be made into curtains now -- I just need to find trim I like.
I live in SC -- I'll have to look for that textile mill.
There is a lot of old country charm in your decor! I love it.
My Show N Tell is all native american, and mostly jewelry. Won't you stop by. [you'll have to scroll down below my book review for the commenting link tho!] Happy weekend.
Your guest room is absolutely gorgeous. I love the washstand in particular and also the quilt. I am an old fashioned type of gal.
