Spring Decor

I've had some Spring decorations out for a little while and haven't had time to post them. Have you all gotten yours out yet?
I had company for a few days from MI. It was fun to see my sister and niece, do a little shopping and of course, pig out a bit. My niece comes every Spring for a long weekend and her mom decided to join her this time. We had so much fun playing Mad Gab. Does anyone play that? We sounded like we were just learning to read sounding out the clues.

Here's a few of the things I have setting around the house.
This nest sets on our kitchen table. I found the birds at a material store that has a small gift area. I put this on a pedestal cake plate. A grouping on the kitchen counter. Plate was bought at Hobby Lobby with the weekly coupon. The little eggs under glass are candles that Ceekay from Thinkin' of Home sent me a few years ago.

On the kitchen island I grouped a bird house I painted with dried Hydrangeas (given by a friend) and a little bird's nest. The little bird's nest came three in a pkg. from Marshall's.

I have a long counter dividing the kitchen from the family room and set this green bunny with a moss egg I made last year and another nest. The egg is Styrofoam painted green and then moss glued on.

Spring Tablescape

Spring is blooming in the Carolinas. Bradford pear trees look like snow with their white blooms and cherry trees with their pink blossoms are so pretty.

I have all my bunnies out and decided to do a spring tablescape. I love the two bunnies looking at each other over the basket of eggs.

Picture Gallery Wall Makeover

A few years ago we moved into our house. It had builders white wash on the walls and it took us a few years to paint each room one at a time the colors we wanted. This is a pic of the family room before we painted it green. It also had a mixture of family photos and an angel I painted. It didn't really do a thing for the room.
I never really like the collage and wanted something different but had to wait until I found the right frames. Last year I found them at Kirkland on sale and finally redid the wall. By then we had the green paint on the walls and some crown molding was added. I wasn't completely happy with the grand daughters matte being the only beige one so I changed it to white, like the others. Today I added the final touch to the wall. I love the lettering you can find at Hobby Lobby and other stores. Have you seen them?

Last week they were on sale for half off. They are fairly easy to put up if you take the time to measure and rub so they adhere to the wall. They make a great addition, I think. Does anyone else have them in their home?

The Snow Has Melted

Welcome and "Hop" on over to my house. I put some Spring decorations out front and thought I'd share them with you.

Here's a tall bunny I painted many years ago while doing craft shows. He'll greet you at the front door.

I added some pink flowers to a basket on the front door that I used last year.

Snow of '09

March came in like a lion! We rarely see snow in SC but Sunday brought a wallop of a snow storm.
As you can see I had already put out some Spring decorations. LOL My poor Japanese Tulip tree had started to bloom already. This will probably set it back a few wks.

Hubby took a couple of the pics, then I took one of him. In those few seconds he was getting covered.

We got about 5 inches. In the 15 yrs. we have lived here we have not seen this much snow.

Blue Monday

It's my first time to take part in Blue Monday that Sally is hosting at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/. Please go visit her site and all the beautiful blue things that people posted.

This is one of our guest rooms that has blue and yellow toile curtains that I made. It has a blue and beige quilt on the bed. It's the only blue I have in my house. I try to have a chair of some kind for guests to sit in, a lamp to read by and mirror for them to "primp" in. (smile)

Good, Bad and Worse

Yesterday started out with Bible Study at church and then off to a sheep farm no less. Friends of ours made a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins and invited us to see their 48 acres of land and sheep. They have a beautiful house and scenery that is pretty in every direction you look. We learned some interesting facts about sheep that I never knew before. They have many lambs that are born every year. One night nine were born in an hour.

They have many Rams. Some are sold for $800.00 a piece. The bigger the horns the more valuable they are. One ram can mate about 100 ewes. (busy fellow) I bet you didn't know that tidbit. lol Their horns are 32" or more from base around to the tip. I think you can see the horns in pic below.

The houses in the background are rentals on their property.

They can have anywhere from 200 to 400 on the farm at a time. They sell the rams to hunting preserves.

That's for the good news.-- The bad news is while we were there, hubby got a call from the cardiologist about a stress test he had done on Mon. There was an abnormality showing on the back side of the heart and he wanted us in the office by 3:45. ( If you remember he had heart surgery this past Oct. and had been doing very well and in rehab. )

At the dr. office he explained that there may not be enough blood getting to the back side of the heart.

He is going back into the hospital tomorrow (Thurs.) and have a heart cath. done to see exactly what is going on and what they need to do about it. They will take care of it while he is in though. We would appreciate your prayers if you think of us. I'm not sure when I will get to post again but will update you as soon as I can.

The day did not get better when I received a call from my best friend Ceekay telling me results of her dr. visit. She has been battling ovarian cancer for a couple of years now. She has some new growths which will require more surgery. She needs and appreciates our prayers.
