Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him

It's Show & Tell at Cindy's athttp://romantichome.blogspot.com/. Please stop over and visit other show & tell blogs. It's always moving to me to see a nativity. It makes me stop and think why we are celebrating Christmas.

This is a live one that we went to last week. Their costumes were spectacular!

Although we don't have a live one in our home, we do have a good size one. It's hard to get a good picture of it at night. The lighting is so much better in person. Do you have that same problem with the Christmas lighting?

We get so busy with the hubbub of the season, I wanted to remind myself for the real reason we have this holiday. Who's birthday it is that we celebrate and the reason he was born on this earth. I'm so thankful for the sacrifice he made.

We have several nativities around our home. This is in the dining room on an easel. It's our 4 precious grandchildren.

I painted this one when I first started painting in 1986. Simple but meaningful.

This is a porcelain set I've had for years from Home Interiors. Anyone remember that company?

Thanks so much for taking time to stop in today. I really enjoy your visits.
May we all remember the gift of Jesus during this Christmas season and may the true spirit of Christmas abide with you throughout the year of 2010.

Your Nativity scenes are Beautiful and you home is GORGEOUS, but I have to admit that it was the painting that you made that I loved the most. It would be awesome for a child's room as a *special* reminder of the true reason for the season. Happy Holidays! Have a Blessed one!

Although I love all your Nativity sets, it was your comments that moved me ..I used to work in a Christian Book Store and bought a Nativity set there that was simple and pastel coloring..I kept it for many years and just last year gave it to my granddaughter and great granddaughter.. They will appreciate it for many years , as they are both Christians and know the meaning of Christmas as a very special blessing to us.
Only if we know Him in our hearts, will we appreciate this time of year ..

Blessings,
Maurine

I enjoyed looking at all of your nativities. The large one makes such a statement and looks perfect where you have put it.
You did a beautiful job on the one you painted. Are you still painting?
To answer your question about the book idea, I opened the book flat and then took a few pages at a time and folded them over tucking the edge of the page into the center (binding) of the book. They stay put nicely. Hope this makes sense :)

Love the nativity! I have the same problem with the lighting. Was trying to take some pictures earlier and it just wasn't working! But I love how you have the big one up on the wall unit. And the painting you did is beautiful. Very talented!

I enjoyed looking at everything you used for the table setting. Very cute!

Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, your Nativity is so beautiful and looks wonderful upon top of your shelves - love the shadows they cast! You know, I do remember Home Interiors. I had a few of the parties way back!
I, too, love to be still and think of that night long ago that our dear Savior was born.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

That photo of your grandchildren is precious. I had some friends who did that one year for their cards...so sweet. I really love your large size nativity - I don't have one (yet)...every year, I have it on my wish list but haven't seen one yet. Your home certainly is lovely!

Hi Rose, I love seeing your nativity sets, and I am reminded that a home is complete, when it adorns these figures. Yours are beautiful.
I love your painting. What a talent for everything you have!

The pics of the live scene must have been spectacular in person.
I will post my nativity this week before Christmas, the one my mother painted many years ago.

Our original nativity, that was passed down from the 40's and was my parents, went to our son now and he displays it on his fireplace mantel. I think it always makes Christmas complete.

Love seeing the pic with your grandkids again. Just a wonderful keepsake.
Your home looks lovely and enjoy your company tonight.

Merry Christmas sweet friend and all the best in the new year.
Love to you, Celestina Marie
p.s. yes I remember the HI company and parties. My sister in law worked with them for a time. We all had lots of decor. LOL
