This & That Thursday

It's always busy around the house in the summer months if you have a yard and flowers to tend to. Lots of weeding, deadheading and watering. We've managed to keep the grass green in a drought here in SC. My hubbby swears by his Scott's 4 step program for the lawn.

This is where I put the mushroom and one of the frogs I recently painted.

We have wanted a hummingbird feeder all summer and finally got one. Hubby tried to get a pic of one of the birds that has been feeding but it is a bit blurred. He is flapping his wings in pic below.

I have also done some sewing lately. I did these curtains for my daughters sliding door. I cut the solid curtain almost in half and added the white shear material with cording joining them together. She hurriedly put them up just to see how they looked and took these pics.
This is what they looked like before.I have been wanting to do something for my young granddaughters. I decided to make them matching aprons. They love helping in the kitchen making cookies and whatever else Mommy lets them do. I sewed their initials on the pockets.

See you tomorrow for show & Tell.

You have certainly been busy. Your yard looks wonderful and so green in spite of the heat. Your yard art looks so at home where you put them too.
Love the curtains you made and those aprons are just adorable.
What a talent you are.

Thank you for stopping by my anniversary post with good wishes. It was so kind and meant a lot to me.
See you again soon.

The aprons turned out really cute. I think the initials turned out really good. Maybe when I get untired from my travel, I will try to accomplish some craft that is waiting!!

I am glad you accepted the blogger awards. You certainly deserve them. Wow what a huge lawn. we had a large front and back lawn in California. Hubby is glad we just have a small one in the back here. Rocks do better in Arizona than grass. I love the aprons you made and the curtains are really neat too.

The curtains you made are so pretty and the aprons for your granddaughters aprons are adorable. You are so talented and your family is fortunate to have such a seamstress to help them out! I have always wanted to sew like you, but I don't think there's a lot of hope in that area. I'm lucky to get a button sewn on!

Your backyard is similar to ours, with the wide expanse of lawn and the high fence... only ours has very little landscaping. (We just moved here this past spring.) I'm always on the lookout for ideas, and I got some great ones from your pictures! Thanks for sharing!

The aprons are so pretty. I just think every child ought to have at least one apron of her own.

The fabric that you chose is very cute.

Oh I love the curtins. I am so drawn to two tone looks. I need to get some done for my living room.
I love my house but I am having the worst time getting the living room right.
BTW thanks for coming over and visiting. We have two donkeys. They are very sweet pets. They are "Otis" aka Donkey Oatie (Don Quiotie) and "Chili Pepper" I was thinking about writing about them tomorrow. Come by and check out Daisy's post!
Smiles,
Sherry
