Today at http://quillcottage.blogspot.com/ we are to post something about buttons.
My Mom had a tin of buttons that we always played with or sorted through when we were little just as Miss Sandy had as a child. It's fun to think back on even the little details of our childhood that bring fond memories.
I used to have so, so manybuttons. I had many, many cards of buttons that I used for different crafts as well as making clothes or hair ribbons for my girls when they were little. I have since gotten out of doing some of those crafts and gave a bag full to Goodwill.
These are the only ones I have left in a box that has Coats & Clark written on it. Some are very old and some not so old.
When I was going through them it brought back memories of outfits I used to wear many years ago.

I like the old antique looking ones with the brownish tones so I photographed them alone. Sorry I don't have more to share.
Thanks for visiting today and to Miss Sandy for hosting this event in honor of Laura Ingalls.

Thank you for sharing your sweet button collection! I like the patina on the metal ones too. I would use the metal ones as soldiers and play war ~ sadly this was due to the fact that my little world at the time was saturated with images of the Vietman War.
No need to apologize for not having "more"... Just a few special ones are "enough"!
Oh, I would have loved to have found that bag of buttons you took to Goodwill! :-) I love the old ones, too, but don't have too many actual old ones though I have some that "look" old.
I suppose that like anything that is collected, it can take over one's life. Glad that you saved these special buttons to show us...beautifully photographed...so easy to see!
Hi Ro,
Thanks for showing your buttons and your childhood memories. I enjoyed your post.
I love the metal buttons. They are so pretty.
Nice buttons. You definately have more than me....I barely even sew a button on anything anymore. Maybe my buttons are visiting yours at Goodwill!!
Your button collection is wonderful. I also love buttons and have my mother's ole tin full of all kinds too. Sometimes it is fun just to go through the tin and imagine the clothes they came from.
Thank you for sharing your special collection!

I love your buttons. Some of the ones from years ago were so pretty and it's nice to be able to see them.
