Turkey Reflections!
We had dinner with our son-in-law's family. His sister had just moved into her first house and invited us to be part of their celebration . Her husband, baby, parents, sister and family, brother and family (our son-in-law and daughter) and hubby and myself were there.
The dinner was wonderful as well as the company.
Of course, we got to spend the day with our grand son and new grand daughter. We passed her around a lot and gave them both lots of kisses.
This is Sarah, Joe, Jonas and Ivy Louise. Mother and baby are doing great!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and rested to start another busy week. Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time.
By the way Connie over at http://connie49.blogspot.com/ is having a giveaway in honor of her upcoming 5o th birthday. Be sure to go over and take a look at it and her blog.

Thanksgiving Decor
Another pilgrim couple. The woman is carrying the pie and he has silverware in hand, ready to dig in. Soooo typical. (smile)
This is a shot with candles that are really too tall for them.
I think my favorite is this scarecrow. His expression and the saying on the sign says it all.
Thanks for stopping. See ya all next week.Sunday, November 23, 2008
California There we Were
Seriously, we had a wonderful time visiting our daughter, son-in-law and grand daughters. They are church planters in Riverside, CA. They have a huge undertaking ahead of them but they serve a Great God.
It's hard to believe we did all the site seeing, amusement parks, zoo, mountain day trip and shopping without my husband having a medical emergency while we were there.
For those of you who may not know---my hubby was taken to the emergency room the second night we arrived home and had open heart surgery a few days later. We are so thankful we were in our home state and are very blessed that he is doing well after 5 weeks. He continues to gain strength and is walking more than 2 miles a day. God is so Good!
I haven't had time to post some of the pics from that trip until now.
Here's a beautiful palm tree in CAArriving at the entrance to Disneyland. The whole park was decorated for Fall and was very pretty. Our daughter, son-in-law and grand daughters are in front of a Mickey Mouse shaped pumpkin. They were so excited. They had never been to a park like this.Hubby and I in front of a Mickey Mouse pumpkin. I just had to have a replica of the pumpkin to remember our trip by. (smile)
Emma and Olivia were so excited to see all the Disney Characters walking around the park.
My gift to them was a Disney autograph book and pen to carry around for the characters to sign and it had a pocket next to their signature to add a picture that is taken with them. (which we were sure to get) Ceekay of http://thinkinofhome.blogspot.com/ gave me the great idea.
Here is Mary Poppins. It made their day to see Mickey in his "finest"garb.
They have some wild looking characters. (smile)
Thanks for visiting today and for all who said prayers for my husband's recovery. We appreciate them more than we can say.

Michigan
We were taken to my sister's beautiful home to stay for a few days, so we could attend my nephew's wedding.
My brother-in-law took off work the next day so we could do some bumming around. Here's the four of us .
My DH's only request was to fit in a trip to the cider mill that we always went to while living in MI. It does have the best hot dogs, donuts, cider, and caramel apples anywhere around that area. We ate lunch there and were off to enjoy the day.
Look at all those yummy apples. I have a great weakness for the caramel ones with nuts. My sister was sure to treat me to one. She's such a good big sister!
I'm in my glory sampling a little of everything, as you can tell with my mouth full. We had so much fun that day.
Right after the wedding ceremony, which was early afternoon, there was a break till the evening reception. We took advantage of that to meet Ceekay, from thinkin of home, and Mimi, from Mimi's Garden at a local restaurant. Ceekay was visiting from AZ.
Here is the two of us.
This one includes Mimi. It was a great time of fellowship and fun. So good to see you girls.
With DH surgery and the birth of Ivy I haven't had time to share this trip or CA. Stay tune for that one.
Have a happy week!

Back to Blogging
I was able to sit down and actually think about doing a post today.
Things are beginning to seem a little more normal now that all out of town company has left.
(In the last 5 wks. we have been with someone, either in their home or in ours.)
I want to thank any and all who have prayed for my husband as he underwent open heart surgery on the 21st of October. Your prayers have meant so much and have been answered in many ways.
He is regaining his strength each day and is walking a mile and half around our neighborhood. He will start rehab next week at the hospital. God is so good and we are so blessed.
In fact, he brought another wonderful blessing into our family yesterday in the person of Ivy Louise.
We have been anxiously waiting all month for her to arrive, since her due date was Oct. 31st. She missed my Mom's birthday on the 8th, my brother's on the 9th and mine which is today. That's ok though, she deserves her own special day!
She weighed in at 8lbs. 12oz. and 21" long. She's such a little sweetheart. Mother and baby are doing great!
Sarah, our daughter, was such a trooper and went completely natural. That's right, without any aid of drugs at all. Whew, so glad it's over for her! (She got to the hospital at 3 a.m. and had her at 5:08 p.m.)
Here she is getting weighed and measured.
With me, the proud Grammy
I've missed you all and hope to be more regular in posting. Thanks again for your good wishes, prayers and thoughts.
