Michigan

We arrived in MI Oct 2nd at Detroit Metro Airport. We were met there by my sister and niece, who so kindly made the trip to pick us up. They have to allow a couple of hours compute to get there.
We were taken to my sister's beautiful home to stay for a few days, so we could attend my nephew's wedding.

My brother-in-law took off work the next day so we could do some bumming around. Here's the four of us .

My DH's only request was to fit in a trip to the cider mill that we always went to while living in MI. It does have the best hot dogs, donuts, cider, and caramel apples anywhere around that area. We ate lunch there and were off to enjoy the day.

Here's the cider press in operation.
Just look at all those gallons of cider. They have a shop to purchase jams, fruit, veggies and some gifts.
Look at all those yummy apples. I have a great weakness for the caramel ones with nuts. My sister was sure to treat me to one. She's such a good big sister!

I'm in my glory sampling a little of everything, as you can tell with my mouth full. We had so much fun that day.

Right after the wedding ceremony, which was early afternoon, there was a break till the evening reception. We took advantage of that to meet Ceekay, from thinkin of home, and Mimi, from Mimi's Garden at a local restaurant. Ceekay was visiting from AZ.

Here is the two of us.

This one includes Mimi. It was a great time of fellowship and fun. So good to see you girls.

With DH surgery and the birth of Ivy I haven't had time to share this trip or CA. Stay tune for that one.

Have a happy week!

I would have the same request as your husband. I am from Michigan and the cider mill is one thing I really miss. Nothing like that fresh cider and donuts in the fall.

How fun that you met up with Ceekay and Mimi while you were there.

It was wonderful that CeeKay and I could meet you and your family for a quick visit while you were in Michigan. My hubby and I are so happy that you are all doing so well now. You will have a blessed Thanksgiving!

What a fun time! You have me wanting a candy apple now! We have a Russell Stover candy store here, and now I'm wanting to go there and get a chocolate candy apple!!

Sometime please tell us how you, Ceekay and Mimi know each other. Did you grow up together?

Your sister's house is so beautiful!
